Can I restore the system to what it was before the problem started?

Just remember 2 things. You have to VO command space twice on the first file
you want to select and always use VO up or down when moving between files until
you command c to copy them as you can lose file selection. Oh and you don't
have to change any curser rowting to do this.

THanks for the suggested podcast - have listened to some of that
series and they are very good.
Good news is after resetting the VO settings it's now reading the
selection properly, phew. I've fiddled with the settings to get some
back how I wanted them and it's still reading properly.

I am thinking about perch acing some new OCR software i currently use
docuscann+, but i don't feel that it meats my needs any more. i have perch aced
prizmo, but it seems to over complicate things when trying to OCR text. i am
thinking about perch acing abby fine reader express. any
