Hopefully your computer came with Appleworks (older versions are
called Clarisworks) installed, or the CD or floppies. That program
can open .doc files.
Select 'Open' and from the dialogue box, select 'All file types',
then click on the document you wish to open. Appleworks will use

Assuming you mean on the Mac and not using your DOS card, I'd recommend
Tex-Edit Plus. Lean, mean and highly
On my PB 190 (OS 7.5.3, 24 MB RAM), I have always had good luck with
Mariner Write and Nisus Writer, but that's just me. Also, I believe
that SimpleText can save in RTF format, but I'm not certain.
