I would think the OS-X approach is really a little more user friendly because it does not require the end user to guess at how much RAM the software manufacturer really intended the application to use ratehr than the bare bones minimum it need to get by with. (Sorry about ending the sentence

I don't think you have corrupted fonts. I thing the program is getting bogged down. Try allocating more memory I have 768MB of RAM, and OSX gives each application all the memory it wants, on the fly, depending on whether the application is resting or working. So I doubt that I have a memory
