I think the point Jerry had in mind was that users of Mac OS X don't have to worry about things like micromanaging memory any more. As far as memory management goes, Mac OS X is much friendlier than its predecessors. In other ways, it's more complicated, but Apple has managed to do a good job of hiding most of the complications from ordinary users.
