The CD/DVD drive on my MacBook Pro will not let me insert a disk into it. I'm
pretty sure that there is not a disk in there now — there is not one showing on
the desktop and I don't remember inserting one that wasn't ejected. I can put
the disk about 2 inches into the drive slot and then it
To force eject restart and hold down the touchpad. Sounds like one is stuck in

That did the trick, though not in the way one would expect. There was not a
disk stuck in the drive, but apparently the mechanism was stuck in the up
position. I did the restart while holding down the touchpad a couple of times,
and I could hear the drive make a trying to eject noise each
