Well, I'm one of those newbies who upgraded to 5.8.0 for no real
reason. Actually, my reasoning was that even-numbered versions were
supposed to be stable and I had read some web page about someone's
expectation that Jag would have 5.8.0. So I did the upgrade which was

Does someone have full instruction on installing all the XML-related
modules? I know I can do it, eventually but a step-by-step guide
(including expat, sablotron, libxml...) would really help.
I did exactly this but there were still unsolved dependencies, such as
sablotron and libxml. Maybe I did something wrong. I know I had some
problems with installation stalling at some test which I ended up
stopping.
Also, there are apparently XML modules that are not in the bundle.

I constantly get locale warnings anytime I use perl (5.8.0 from
serverlogistics on MacOS X 10.2 Jaguar, set to French-Canadian as
