All: Thank you for your help with the below issue. It turns out it may not be the switch after all. I ordered a new switch so that will be resolved soon anyway. But in the interim, I moved so I had the chance to reconfigure the network. Here's what I found: I have (right now) 8 devices connected

Yeah, if you can live with a fixed IP, this is likely to be a great solution in the "I'm tired of debugging this any more" case. > On Apr 14, 2020, at 1:02 PM, Jeff Weinberger wrote: > > On Tue, Apr 14, 2020 at 3:42 PM qb mailto:qbj...@mac.com>> > wrote: > Have you tried a FIXED IP address as

Oh, yeah. The big question: have you tried connecting the Mac to a different port on the switch? When the IP address flashes up, does it start with the assigned range for your router (usually 192.168…, or 10…, or 172.16…), or does it begin with 169.254...? What brand and model is your

Hi - any help here is much appreciated!! My iMac's (Retina 4K 21.5 inch Late 2015, OS/X 10.15.4) Ethernet will not connect when it is connected to a switch (NetGear GS108 ProSafe 8 port gigabit unmanaged switch) which is in turn connected to my router. It connects fine when the iMac is connected
