Each time I run:
sudo port upgrade installed
I get the following repeated upgrades:
--- darwinbuild is replaced by darwinbuild-legacy
--- Computing dependencies for darwinbuild-legacy
--- Cleaning darwinbuild-legacy
--- glut is replaced by mesa
--- Computing

An update:
I was trying to install recoll, using macports.
I downloaded macports and ran the installer. I wasn't able to use selfupdate
because I couldn't use rsync.
So I was following the wiki tutorial on how to use subversion to update the
ports tree.
I believe I was able to get the port

I was able to upgrade qt4 by simply deactivating qt3.

Correct. You just can't have multiple Qt ports installed and active at the same
time. Of course you can have any number of ports installed but inactive.
