Good morning everyone. My Macbook Pro 13 inch non-retina is coming up to a year next month. Should I consider getting Apple Care for this product? As in, should I sign up now or is it too late? Someone said one can sign up to Apple Care at least a year after they purchased their Mac computer.

I don't think you can get it past thirty days, though. That is, if you don't purchase it within thirty days of the purchase date of your machine, you're out of luck. Of course, Apple is the final authority on this, so give them a call and check. Personally, I take my chances with iOS devices

Are you trying to erase the disk that you booted from? If so it won't let you. You'll need to boot from another volume first. That could be tricky with an MBA as you don't have a DVD drive to boot from. Maybe if you boot from the recovery partition it will let you format the main partition.
