Hi Ann,
It is entirely possible that this is the case. Can you tell me how I would
check this and turn it off if it is? I tried the control option shift f3
command Anders suggested and that just beeps at me.
Thanks,
Gabe

True and also remember they reduce the price of or give way previous versions
of the phone. THere’s more options for more price points today than originally.

I think that if you are using a full size keyboard the function key is the
insert key on the six pack.

Hi,
One advantage of using boot camp is that all the resorsis are used and this
could come ion handy, but you would need a pare of usb headphones to get sound
at first dirring the install. If you use vmware you will have to alacate ram
for your vm. HTH.

Actually, I believe the most recent update fixed Bluetooth headphone issues
for me. I was having issues earlier in the year.

No need to initialize P RAM. Checking the function key box works like a

Anne,
I had found the function key and, with a bit of gymnastics, opened the oh
utility. Didn't realize I needed to go to system preferences. Thank you for

Hello Kevin,
First of all, you have an FN key on your keyboard. It’s the middle left key in
the block of 9 between the alpha-numeric keyboard and the numpad.
Since this key is badly positioned for use with VO commands, you need to go
into System Preferences and select Keyboard. Select the first
Do you think you might at times touch the trackpad while typing and this would

Ann and Donna,
I have no function key on my computer. My keyboard is a full-size keyboard with
NumPad. It is USB. I assume I would look at the status of the function key in
VoiceOver utility somewhere. Is that right? How do I reset the P RAM?
One other point, VO shift F11 does not turn the
That's not totally true. Apple has the iPhone SE, the iPod Touch, and the
newest iPad. All are under $400. The Mac Mini is around $400 exactly. Now,
these aren't the best Apple products, but they are still good. Same goes for
just about everything else, including Android. A $200 tablet will do
Thanks. When I installed Superduper a few weeks ago (under Sierra.
It does not seem to support APFS as of yet), it would not work until I
went into that same folder and deleted a certain file.

Hi,
Actually, you can look at the contents of this directory by using the Go To
item in the Finder.
• activate the Finder.
• press cmd-shift-g, or up to the Go menu and choose Go To Folder.
• put in /var/db in the field.
You'll be taken directly to this folder without being root. Albeit,
So you need to be root I think to access this directory. I’d probably issue a
sudo su - first but with al the warnings and caveats associated with root.
Be careful to put it mildly.

Hi,
The command is...
rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
Most sites say that it must be done in Single User mode, but I simply use the
Terminal from the Recovery partition, or start up from an external source and
cd myself to the Macs internal drive.

Hi,
Actually, it can normally just be done using Terminal from the Recovery

a specific hidden file, thus telling your Mac that it is at the new

For me to get this to work, I have to add the function key. I think it depends

Hello Kevin,
Even with verbosity set to Low, this isn’t happening to me. Are you having
other anomalies with VoiceOver?
Often, when you get weird behaviour, reinitialising the PRAM can sort things
out.

Depends, on how large and how much time you want but roughly 600 to 1500 US per
hour assuming your paying a pilot and chartering, if you own it’s less per hour
but the million plus for the bird up front is a limiting factor.:)

Yeah Samsung make multiple devices in all different price ranges.
Apple have about 4 different devices and all in a much higher price range.
