In terms of your e-mail on your system, this is stored in the ~/Library/Mail folder. I haven’t scrounged around in that folder in a couple of years, but I expect you can still retrieve items from there. If you try to do this, I would suggest migrating the Library Folder over to your new

Hi Paul Yes it will read hard drives and USB flash drives which is still on the old HFS+ file system with no problems. My Macbook Pro is on High Sierra and the new APFS file system, but the external hard drives which I use for Time Machine backups is still formatted as HFS+ and they work
