It seems to be a flaw in either the upgrade to Catalina Mail, or I'm not sure
why it happened if you were doing a clean install. When I contacted Apple
Accessibility about it, they said that all I needed to do was go under the View
menu, down to Customize ToolBar, and drag the search item

In Mojave i had no problems searching in a mailbox from the toolbar.
I want to find a specific mail i have saved.
Now the search seems gone from the toolbar but i guess you can find that mail
by pressing cmd f.
I have tried that but have no luck.
