Hi, Normally, that’s exactly what you need to do. I had this happen to me today part way through a Zoom meeting though, and couldn’t figure out how to fix it. I didn’t want to leave the meeting since I was the host, but will see if it happens again and fiddle with it to learn a workaround.

The Learn More dialog doesn't really tell you much. It just talks about how exposure notification works. It doesn't say anything about what specific apps you need to install to use the feature. Under the Active App choice: I see no apps installed. So clearly Apple's COVID app is not an option.
