I need to know that if I start my MacBook with command+R, Will there be
speech in Recovery mode?
And, if I change the boot drive to a external USB drive and restart, and
the drive is not bootable, will I get stuck without speech or will it
convert back to the internal harddrive?

• Yes, just press cmd-f5 after a while and VO will work.

As to your second question, I’m not sure. If you set the target disk in System
Preferences startup Disk, you should be fine. I’m not sure how you would boot
