Shen, the cpu in the iPad has very little to do with apple choosing to switch to amd. The cpu in question is probably the product of a company that apple purchased a few years ago that makes high quality low power mobile processors. The reason why the info on the cpu is so vague is because apple

This is purely speculation on my part. As I'm sure it is on yours and others. Remember, it's all about profit margin. Apple has no reason to switch to AMD if their profit margin is lower or the same. Perhaps Apple will consider AMD if they believe their profit margin will be higher than continuing
