Hi all,
I am using CCC (carbon copy cloner) and have a scedualed backup which takes
place dayly. Lastnight I had to do it manually since the auto backup
compleated with errors. Any one using this program have any ideas on how to
get around this.
On another note, I noticed on my Mac mini

I looked at both and am now running CCC. Once its set up the way I
want it, its on auto pilot. It also will make the backup drive bootable.
Very good support as well from its developer.

Both are 100% accessible, and both will absolutely get the job done.
This discussion from time to time keeps cropping up on list. My personal
preference is Super Duper, but there really isn't any particular reason. A
lot of people will tell you that CCC does more. Whether this can
I wish to make a bootable drive of my internal Macintosh HD. Are both
SuperDuper and CCC equally accessible with VoiceOver? And, do the folks on
this list have a preference?
Thank you in advance for any help.

Hi!
Ok I'm using Mavericks and I decided to update and was only offered Version
3.5.7 (1495) and that version just worked with my task settings I had already
set!
So also cannot offer any help with your version!

I cannot definitely help your problem as I have not updated. Have you
tried using item chooser to see if you can identify source and
destination sections? This has worked in some situations in other apps
in the past for me.
Anyway thanks for the heads up. I checked my version 3.5 last night and
Hi
I was just wondering if you schedule a backup is there a way to tell

Wish I had noted this before. My manager just got a new Macbook so we
used CCC to migrate everything from his old Macbook to the new one by
putting the new machine in target mode and then cloning it all via
firewire. Worked well but we never did figure out how to get to the
status thermometer
Hi,
I used CCC when I switched to a larger disk before installing Lion.
It worked great. I'm actting because folks have said that Super Duper
is accessible. I tried several times to get it to work for me, and I
did read one or two screen ssuccessfully, but in general, I found
myself doing
trouble after updating CCC. What I did is abort the copy
and start a new copy and it went well.

For about 7 hours now, CCC has been performing an initial backup to a

I don't believe they are. Since these are backup programs, they request admin
access, and I don't think apple allows any apps in the app store that do that.
Fortunately, they're easy to download and install, I think super duper's site

Hello List,
JUst some thoughts on prepairing for Lion.
I set up CCC (Carbon Copy Cloner) and I really love it. It's extremely easy to
use and it's 100% accessible for VO users.
Not only is it easy to make a complete clone, or a incremental backup, it's
also really easy to boot from and use
Wow, Dan! Thanks for such a great heads up about CCC. I do have it install
on my macbook, but really truely haven't played much with it.
I'll give it a look as it sounds really full on!

Does CCC create the backup to a single file and can I back up to a drive

Thanks for this. I installed CCC a couple of weeks ago, but haven't actually
tried to use it yet. I'm sure I'll be checking
it out before Lion happens; am especially hoping that using something like CCC
will preserve my app preferences for Adium and
things of that nature. I have a little
Hello,
You can make different backups. Generally speaking, CCC completely copies your
drive from one drive to another. Not just one file, the actual clone.
Of course you can also backup to dmg files as well and restore as well, this
would give your single file inclosure.

Hello,
CCC does allow for time machine backups, but you really should read the
documentation regarding these files because there a few caveats that they want
users to be aware of.

Hello,
Generally speaking, CCC will truly make a clone of your drive, so all settings
will be preserved.
You can then boot from your machines hard drive or the bootable external drive.

Hello,
After you start CCC and have everything set up for your incremental backup You
would probably have to examine the table that contains everything to be backed
up and just select what you want. It's a really involved table and you should
really know what you want.

Hello,
No problem at all.
While I know that many people really love Super Duper, that wasn't my
experience.
I had some really funky things go drastically wrong with Super Duper a few
years back and so I shied away from it. Plus I like the completely uncluttered
screen in CCC.
I don't know
You can choose to back up to a disk image I think. If you want to do a full
backup, you will want to dedicate a drive, or at least a partition to the mac,
and format it accordingly.
