Yes, all these methods are great. I will just caution, however, that it's still possible to lose messages this way if you're not careful. I recommend opening activity monitor with command-option-0 if you're moving large numbers of messages. It's worth while keeping an eye on what's happening,

You can go into the messages menu and choose move, and pick a mailbox from the list. You can move multiple messages this way. Also, if you have a numbered mailbox in your favorites bar, let’s say “saved messages” for example is on number 1, you can move a message to that box by pressing
