Well everything for the most part worked great, as I was able to repartian the
drive in to 2 drives, one for Time Machine and one for me to back up and have
access to all of my files. Both went successful. The only problem, and I am not
sure if it is a problem is when I went to get

In regards to your issue, it might be because it should have been able to have
been formatted to Mac Extended Journelled. But it's possible that why it never
formatted to that originally was because you may need to go to the erase tab,

I finally got around to ordering a new external hard drive, as the Seagate I
ordered wouldn't mount successfully, ends up that is a common issue with
seagate drives. So I ordered a My Passport drive for Mac, and of course it
shows up set up for Windows NTFS. I can't win. So I want to

How I did it was.
1. I plugged in my drive and went to disk utility.
2. I went to the partition tab, and in the disk table, I selected the 2 TB WD
My Passport 0748 Media drive.
3. I clicked on the partition layout button, and selected 2 partitions.

Thanks. I went ahead and played around with it after doing a google search. I
think I selected all the right options, but will have to check after Time
Machine finishes. I am not sure if I selected GDUI or the other mac option, it
was automatically set to windows which is strange
