Hey list, I’ve enabled File Vault2, a way to encrypt your disk with sensitive information or other info. But the recovery key I couldn’t write down as there is no way of interacting with VO to copy the text of the key. So now, I no longer have the key anywhere, and VO has a beep prompt at login

I haven’t lost the password, yet, though i really wanted to write down the key and couldn’t. So I’ll need to call AppleCare and ask them for the key and email it to myself. How were you able to copy the key? When I am able to generate a new key I’ll try your way of copying to see if it changed

In Mountain Lion I was able to copy the key using VO-Shift-C, to copy the last spoken phrase. You should be able to use this—it's a great one to remember when VO can't interact and select text to be copied. Apple will not be able to email you the key as Apple does not keep any copy for

Strange. It has an option to store the key with apple so why wouldn’t they keep it. As far as the login, it only does it at first boot, if it awakes from sleep, it uses regular voice over. Otherwise the beep method. It scared me at first, but i got it right the first time. VO+shift+c, good
