Gigi,
What do you mean by the Function Alt key? If it's the one next to the space
bar, that in no way would address the scrunching problem. :)
Cheers,

hello there
I forgot to tell you something that you may want to consider when deciding on
your braille display. The braille edge 40 can be updated using your Mac, and I
don't know what other displays that is true of. This is a big deal.

Hi there
There are some workarounds for that however. I just go the extra step of using
the function alt key and going to the menu. I have found that faster than
scrunching up my hand. That is the workaround that I use. It works pretty well,
and I've got very fast doing it

Hi,
I find mine has really solid and good sharp dots, and have had it for 1.5
years. Maybe dot quality varies among devices, but I would recommend it very
highly.

Hi Chris,
I find the braille quality on the Edge to be very good. It's not as sharp as
some, but sharp enough, I would say. As for durability, well it's as durable
as any device made out of plastic is going to be. :) I don't have the Executive
Products case, and I do find that I'm careful wit

The Braille cells are of good quality. The unit is durable enough, although I

Hi Chris
Be sure and get the executive case if you get the Braille Edge because it needs
it. If you get the case, then I think it is as durable as any is. You have to
be careful with all of them. Those plastic things are pretty delicate. The
manual has improved. It does not have a dot firmless
As a braille display, I cannot compare this to other brands.
I have had mine almost 2 years. It does not get heavy use but I
think its a wonderful piece of engineering. I would like sharper dots
but that is personal preference at work.
Once setup with the Mac, iPhone or iPad (and Win

Hello,
I’m looking for some feedback on the Braille Edge. How is the quality or feel
of the Braille dots? How durable is the unit, is it well constructed?
Any comments are welcome either to the list or to my email address.
Chris
