Wow, that show formula as text is a new one on me. I just went into Numbers and
checked because I have an edited formulas in a while and the problem that was
spoken of no longer seems to occur for me. Our wing threw the formula in the
formula editor does read out each token. That’s a great help

After pressing option-return, the cursor is placed at the end of the formula.
The step that you’re missing is to VO-left to the “Formula Options” button.
VO-space on this button and select the “Show Formula as text” item. Now the
formula within the cell is editable text, including the

and replace it with b45, without retyping most of the formula?

For the longest time, I have been copying the formula and pasteing it into Text
Edit, to edit it.
For example, my formula is
SUM(B6:B40)
If I tried to edit in numbers, VoiceOver will not read by characters. It just
repeats
SUM sum )
Pressing up or down arrow gets the same results.
