Chromevox is a screen reader built into Chrome so it has its own
keyboard commands and such but only works within that app. Sound weise,
at least on the Mac, it uses the same text to speech engine provided by
OSX so it sounds much like voiceover. From what I've heard Chromevox

Yes, but then you have to turn VO off or you'll have two screen readers
speaking. Having to turn VO off and on every time I flip into and out of
Chrome is a non-starter. Most people don't just live in their browser.
Chromevox makes a lot of sense on platforms which don't already have a

Hi, there is an easy fix for the problem you're having in Chrome where it loads
a page and you have to go back to the edit box. Just use Chromevox. Sure, it
crashes Chrome sometimes with the Nuance voices but it does the job. I would
use Safari more if SamNet worked for Safari.

Chris and others: when I hit cmd-l in chrome, I get put in the edit field as
you'd expect. I then hear the html load ouns and am focused on some new page
that alwasy loads when I hit cmd-l. I must then move back to the text field and
interact again before I can type.

You are correct Alex, I think it loads some kind of default tab content.
This is the one thing that has been bugging me with Chrome... Otherwise it's
pretty good.
On the other hand, I love Chrome on iOS. I was so surprised to see how
accessible it was.
