I have a full size keyboard. repeatedly pressing F12 worked. I found the setting for closing windows when you close an app. isn't there another one for not opening previously open windows on startup? I think I've seen it before but don'tknow where to look for it now. can you tell me where it

Well, at least on the Mac a mute can be reversed with volume keys also. I believe F10 is mute, F11 is volume down and F12 is volume up on most Apple keyboards. Generally I have to use the Fn key with these. Also, in the sounds system settings area is a play tone while adjusting volume setting
