I agree! That's the one thing I really hate about the Mac.

Actually love the new shortcut. I do however see how it is a problem to
somebody. with one hand or other difficulties.

It really annoys me that you have to use so many keys to do something so simple.

Hi Cait. Actually, anyone that has Sierra installed will be able to run High
Sierra. That includes mid 2010 Macs like mine. And as for the extra key, they
did this so that accessing the navigation rotor is easier for people. But I do
understand that it may be an inconvenience for some people.
i love that now if you have other language voices and you set VO to select the
voice based on language in the roter if you hit a german webpage it will speek
using what ever german voice you have on.
You can add an extra languages, the speech settings page is quite different.

hey,
you add the shift key to that command and you can change the rate and things on
the fly.

Command, VO key, plus shift, plus right, down, up, or left arrow. Its very
annoying for me, because I use just one hand, I have a motorical problem with
the other.

I couldn’t imagine them taking away a vital way of fiddling with your vo
options!
and, alas, my own mac, a mid 2010 model, will probably soon not be able to
handle upcoming OS’s.. guess I better start putting money into the piggy bank..

At least so far as I am aware, you are not losing your mind. Bear in mind,
however, that since this here mid 2009 Mac book pro cannot handle any form of
Sera, I had to wing it.

You have to add the shift key now
This will give you the options you are looking for.

Um, I thought it was vo command and the arrow keys to change options like
speech rate, etc?
when I do vo right arrow alone, it just advances the vo cursor through wherever
I happen to be..
