E.T. is correct. This is exactly what you need to do.
My error for saying you needed to click the lock. I was thinking you were in
the Security and Privacy section of System Preferences.
That's what happens when I go through email quickly on my phone.

There is no lock in that section. When an item is dimmed, it usually
