Yes, and I think you will like it. Say, Ann, I have a friend that has that
goggles program you talked about. She says she doesn't like it any more after
it updated itself. I told her about TapTapSee, and I think she is going to give
it a try. Am I to understand that you still like the goggles
Hello Gigi,
Yes, I still use Talking Goggles and it works great for me. I use it in video
mode and hold it about a foot away from whatever I'm trying to identify. One
thing you have to remember about Goggles is that it won't work if your iPhone
is on silent, as it is self-voicing. I use it to
I like it quite a lot as well. It is great for identifying groceries. You do
sometimes have to move whatever you are looking at, of course, if you are not
pointed at the right section of a box or jar, but this is equally true for
having to take pictures. It is very quick and no
I want to remind everyone that you get 20 pictures free when you get
the TapTapSee app. I love the app. I purchase the 1 or 3 month
unlimited package so I don't have to worry about the number of
pictures I take. I am a TVI and use it with some of my kids.
Sometimes they take 3 pictures in very
Hello All,
I'll start with TapTapSee first. As others have said, one needs to be a good
picture taker to use the app well without wasting the picture count. I have
used TapTapSee to recognize T-shirts with writing or a motif on it. After it
has been recognized, I use the Looktel Recognizer
Hello!
This is one of those apps that is useful if you don't have a sighted person
always around.
My husdand and I are both blind, and we use Taptapsee, for example, to
determine if a can is tomato or apple sauce if they are equal in shape and
side. To read the names on things that come into
Hello there
I think it is useful with you have a sighted person around or not. I prefer to
do my own thing instead of getting my husband to look at stuff all the time.
Trust me, I'd rather ask a computer. They don't get upset because you
interrupted something. As for expense, I don't think
I use it to identify cans, boxes, other products in my house. I am
not a super organized person. I have read other people using it for
other things. It does tell colors, but I don't trust it much more
than I trust any other color identifier. So many things play a part
in how a color shows
I just had to purchase a package again. There are now four options
instead of 2. There is an unlimited 3 month option for $24.99 and one
a the low end for $4.99, I think. They are really tring to make it
affordable for everyone and I appreciate that. There are very heavy

Hello Jürgen,
I have Tap Tap See, but I prefer Talking Goggles as it works in real time
rather than having to take a picture. Also, you only pay for the Talking
Goggles app and it's really cheap. After that, it's free.
I use Talking Goggles to identify items in my fridge and cupboards. The
I use it to idetify meds, my k cups, thermostat temperature.

I don't hand a problem paying something for the app, as is usual in the world,
but I know how bad a photographer a blind person can be; I an horrible at. For
this reason, I think charging by the picture is not reasonable. More lower cosh

Hi:
I've used it to read the temperature of my thermostat , my k cups, my meds,
food, captchas on the computer, etc.

There is a monthly rate and a 3 month rate. When the month or 3
months is up you aren't charged until you start it and at tht time you
can choose your payment option. This time I paid for 3 months and, I
believe, it was $24.99. That works out to less than $9.00 per month.

This is news to me. It's either a 100 picture subscription or a monthly
unlimited picture subscription.

I just had to pay again this week and I had 4 choices, 50 pictures,
100 pictures, 1 month or 3 months. That was new to me too.

I just looked at my bank account and $26.68 was taken out for the 3
month subscription. That is still less than $9.00 per month for
unlimited pictures.

Oh wow! So what's the $4.99 option then? I mean what's the exact wording?

According to the website you get 20 pictures free when you first
install the program and then you choose from 1 of the four options

2. 100 Picture Pack for $7.99 (no time limit)

The 3 month plan is the best subscription option. I purchased a 100 and a 50

Hi there,
thanks so much for your answers. I now see more clearly for what I could use it
in a meaningful way. I might try it out with a fifty pictures subscription.
Seem to me to be a good value to try it out this way.
All the best
