Hmm. How does this work for HTML5 video? My understanding that the AV grunt work for the browser was handed off to the QuickTime plugin. I guess I can answer my own question. Loading up an html5 video in youtube played just fine while Flash ones complained that I needed to install the plugin.

So are you saying that turning off plugins disables flash? How do you do that. I can turn on/off Extensions but not plugins in Safari Preferences and Flash doesn't show up as an Extension. CB On 10/31/11 11:04 PM, Mike Arrigo wrote: Glad that worked, I actually leave plug ins disabled unless

Hi, Chris. To disable plugins and other web content, go into Safari prefs/security. I don't see a way of disabling individual items, except for Javascript and Java. By the way, if you want to check out the installed plugins and their status, go to help/installed plugins. Note: not to be

Hi, Kevin, Do you know which players the site uses for media? If it uses strictly flash, it will not be very accessible on the Mac. You could possibly try going to the mobile version on your computer, which will most likely not contain flash. HTH, Teresa Everything is interesting if you go

I wonder if there are 2 versions of the page, a flash and an html version, if the site is giving you the flash version on the mac, you won't see the buttons since adobe refuses to make flash accessible. You might try this, open safari preferences and go to the security tab, uncheck the option

Glad that worked, I actually leave plug ins disabled unless I know I will need flash, this will cause sites to provide an html version if possible which will read. Hopefully eventually html5 takes the place of flash and this is no longer an issue. On Oct 31, 2011, at 8:19 PM, Kevin Mattingly
