Hi Everyone,
I'm in training at GDB in San Rafael, CA. They offer us a great deal on
streams, so I've decided to take the leap and buy one at the discounted price.
How will the stream and mac interact? Is there anything special I need to know
before I buy one?
Thanks, Olivia
Innovation
Nope, nothing special at all. I use the stream with no problems with my Mac.

You should use a card reader to transfer files to the SD card, it is
much faster than using the VR stream.
There is no stream companem software for the Mac.

The stream works great. The only thing you'll need is the new softpack add on
to listen to books from Audible or music from ITunes. The new additional
software interacts with ITunes now and that makes everything accessible.
Good luck and enjoy your stream...

Hi Kev,
I was just curious about something you said in an earlier post. You said the
stream works with audible. It does? Do I have to pay for the additional
software to use it? I tried to paste a book Storm Prey by John Sanford
downloaded from Audible with Itunes on to my stream. The stream
Hi:
Streams work great on a Mac. You can hook it up via USB, or use the SD card
reader.

They just came out with a new update to the VRStream software and are offering
an additional softpack for $49.00 that will work with ITunes and your Mac.

Let me see about getting it in the next day or so. Once I do, I'll post back to

Correct but to use it with ITunes and your Mac you'll need to purchase that
software.

You do not have to pay for extra software to use Audible format 4. You need

I skimmed the release notes for the VR Stream soft pack. My understanding is
that it enables users to play unprotected iTunes and EPUB files. I don't
think I read that it works with iTunes directly.

Where do I put the Itunes content, I tried music and other books? It's music,
so it's probably not protected.

My understanding of the soft pack sis that you'll pay the extra $49. You can
do this online or call Humanware to place your order. Then Humanware will
e-mail you like a User Authorization Key type thing that you'll install onto
your stream. i believe this sort of unlocks those extra features
Did you install the softpack onto your stream and confirm that it is indeed
installed properly?

As long as you know how to copy and paste, and I'm sure you do, you will have
no problems at all. There is a companion software application that runs on
windows, but I'm not sure if there is a Mac version. If your Macbook has a
card reader on it, you can just take the SD card out of the VRS
