You inspired me to return to Nisus today as I needed to write a blog
which I had recently been doing in TextEdit. Returning to Nisus was a
comfortable experience with simple things remaining simple. I like the
way that when the app opens you are just in a blank document and can
start typing
Hi Deb,
I did find it in the Australian Mac app Store:

Is this the app you’re talking about?

I don’t know if there is anything there, but try going to www.applevis.com
http://www.applevis.com/ and doing a search for word processors for the mac.
Currently, I am doing ok with pages, but some things could be simpler to
handle. Thanks and HTH

Hi Joanne,
Thanks for the suggestion of using Libre Office.
As far as using Windows I do have a bootcamped version of Win 7 but would
rather use Mac OS X to get the job done.
Trying to make the switch 100%.
Again appreciate the info.

Hi David,
I’ve heard good things about Nisus writer pro.
In the Australian Mac app Store I believe it’s AU$99.
Will give it a try.
Do have a copy of Microsoft Office 2013 which I fire up from time to time but
trying to use Mac OS X for my educational needs.
Kind regards,

Nisus is a more expensive option than iText but Nisus Writer Pro is a
fully featured Voiceover Accessible Word Processor for the Mac which has
an interface which is more familiar to people used to Windows Word
processors like Word than Pages. . I must admit I have not done

What about Libre Office as an option? I heard that Libre office suppose to be
fairly accessible with voiceover.
Personally i use pages, but i'll still use the pc laptop for any complex

When I tried it a few months back I found Libre Office unusable for any
practical usage. I have removed it from my Mac. The Voiceover Support is
clunky and verbose in the extreme, even at lowest VO verbosity settings.
It is impossible to read beyond a paragraph at a time and that requires

My favorite full word processing app is Nisus Writer. Not free at all but very
thorough. You should be able to o anything you need with it. It’s not in the
App store so you’ll need to Google it.

There is a very good accessible document drafting app called scrivener. I don't
know where to get it but I'm sure you can Google scrivener and find it
somewhere.
It is a paid app, but there is a free trial and a very good tutorial That comes
with it
I don't do a lot of drafting, because the
