According to their specs it's a 5 volt 1.5 Amp power supply. They don't
say anything about the shape of the plug and of course say not to use
any other power supply.

why do you prefer the brilliant over the alva?
I looked at the brilliant and while it seems sturdy, you can't do braille input
on it.
Interested to know your reasons…

Eric,
This is funded through ADP.
My only choices were/are the brilliant, the alva, and the freedom scientific
focus products.
I really wanted a braille edge, but no go.
It might be problematic to go back to get this changed..
thanks for your input, though. I haven't cemented anything in stone
I have the BI 32 model which has a Perkins-style keyboard for braille input.

If you want braille input, check out the Himbs Braille Edge. It’s $1000
cheaper, it has an SD card slot (so you can read your library books), plus
other basic notetaker functions. I have the Alva, and its built-in text editor

thanks Buddy.
I did want the braille edge, but ADP doesn't cover that one, unfortunately.
It was either the brilliant, the focus ones, or the alva.
The brilliant they showed me had no input keys and was very simple.

That still exists? I haven't heard anything about that in years, so thought it
was out of date.
Are we talking about the linux-based notetaker, or something else?

Hi Jessica
Recently I was talking to someone who should definitely know what they are
doing. This person is having big trouble getting his Alva to work with his
Mac. Maybe if you get a way to check it out, you can hook it up to your
computer and see if you get it to work.

Actually, the Alva has always worked with the Mac. And as of a recent firmware
update, braille input is also possible.

Hi DOnna,
I don't have an Alva but I did have to pair my Braillino. I went through VO
utilities and it refused to pair. It kept saying that there was a driver issue
or something like that. I found the best way to pair was to go to bluetooth
settings by pressing VO shift M as in mary twice

It's been so long since I've done this that I forgot that I needed to do it

Hi.
I use alva 544 on my mac and it works perfect. only plug it in. My version is

Sometimes the mac lose connection with the display but if I switch it off and
