Hi all, I read that we should rename or convert books downloaded from Bookshare into HTML format. Of course, one can read these books with Safari and other browsers. Can we make the browsers remember a particular place in the book? Kindly let me know. Thanks so much for all your suggestions

It defaults to the system voice, but you can choose another in preferences. The new voice, however, seems to need a new book before it will take effect and may not switch at all. It seems to save your place exactly until you restart or close the app; once you do this, you are taken to the top

You download the daisy format, which comes as a zip or bks2 file. Open that and the mac will unzip it automatically. Now open Olearia, hit cmd-o, and go to the folder into which the mac unzipped the daisy files. Select either of the two the app presents and you should be all set. I don't think

I don't know whether this is only true of the newest additions to bookshare (over the last year or so) but lately when I download bookshare books, no unzipping is required. I just seek out the title and the .xml extension, and it opens in Safari when I hit enter. Is no one else experiencing

Just vo-shift-m on one of them and select open with. Now find the program you want, vo-right to the checkbox about always using this application, and check it. That should do it. If not, hit cmd-i on a bks file and find the opens with popup. I might have the instructions or wording a bit off -
