Re: Correction, How to get rid of traces of software using Mac Book Air with latest OS?

2017-07-17 Thread Joseph Hudson
Sharon, first of all you might want to come down secondly, if you delete an
app, and it's in the trash folder, go to the trash folder, and empty the trash.
Then went to empty the trash, then you can read install it and download it
fresh. And you're not stupid. Trust me.

Correction, How to get rid of traces of software using Mac Book Air with latest OS?

2017-07-17 Thread Sharon Hooley
Oops, I forgot to mention my mac info. I put it in the subject line, and here
is the message again:

Hi,

I downloaded an app, a download manager, to be specific. For some reason I
decided to trash it. Then download it again as a fresh start, but I still
found traces from the first instance. I’ve tried scrapping and downloading it
from the internet again and again, but I found more and more traces and stuff
I can’t seem to delete. So, how do I get rid of the whole chi bang? Believe
me, once I clear up this mess, I want to download it one more time and give it
a good chance before deciding what to do with it. I would really appreciate
some help here.

Thanks much,

Re: How to click mouse in fusion, jaw 8 doesn't work

2017-07-17 Thread Jonathan Cohn
So, you re-mapped the insert key to your key and not the caps lock. Though,
I have no idea exactly what would happen if you just created a new key
marked as caps lock, my expectation is that the Mac would still not fully
transfer the key over to the VM. In laptop layout the insert+something
else will do what the standard layout says even if the laptop layout is
enabled. So in key mappings you might see jaws+8 and insert+8 and this is
what is hitting you. I have never reviewed the settings in the k***
keyboard layout in Jaws, so perhaps this does what you need i.e. enable all
the laptop layout but using the insert key instead of the jaws key. You
can open the jaws .jkm files in any text editor and adjust significantly,
including adding "layer keystrokes. (insert+space followed by h) etcetera .

I wonder, would anybody like to see a "VoiceOVer" layout for the JAWS
functions? I had thought of doing a WIndowEyes layout and still might.

It would be a fun weekend project.

Re: Seeing AI app from Microsoft

2017-07-17 Thread Jessica Moss
I love the way it helps you scan documents/barcodes; well, for the most part.
I love how it helps you align the camera with the product/document, however,
I’ve had several issues where I couldn’t get products to scan at all, or had
trouble aligning them, so that may just be something I’ll have to play around
with.
I got it to scan the instruction card from a mix I was going to cook, which
my zoomEx always has the hardest time with, and it read it almost perfectly,
except it constantly said the recipe called for H cup of water, which it read
that as no matter how many times I scanned it.
I later got sighted assistance with it, and found out the “H, cup water,” was
1/2 cup water.

You don’t download like traditional computers. Go to the App Store, put the
app you want in the search bar and buy it or get it, buy means you pay money
and get means it’s free to install.

Re: Downloading on an iPhone 6S

2017-07-17 Thread E.T.
That is a good start. On the iPhone, open the App Store, find the
search field and type in an app. select what you think is the right one
from the results and if its free, find the Get button to download and
install it. If its a paid app the same button will have the price. For
those you need an Apple ID and credit card information.

Hi,

Yes. Using the "network setup" command. Some options are listed here

or just type networksetup in Terminal and check out your options.

sure that you're connected first to the network you wish to remain a part of

1. To the Apple menu.
2. Down to System Preferences.
3. Locate the Network button in the list of preferences, and press on it.
4. Locate the Advanced button and press on it.
5. Navigate to the table of networks then interact with it.
6. Navigate to the network you wish to remove, then stop interacting with the
table.
7. Navigate right to the "Remove Network Profile" button and press on it.

If iCloud Keychain is enabled, then you will be asked a confirmation question,
otherwise, it should just be removed.

8. Press on OK.
9. Press the Apply button and close System Prefs.

The old network should no longer be connected unless you actually do it

I suppose it depends on which side of the fence one is on. Some women marry
their financial plan and men marry to get a maid. Maybe we should ask SIRI her
opinion? LOL.

is this possibly 18 years worth of stress from being married?

You said your wife had aged 6 years from being married to you?

This works both ways!

They must work on its accuracy. It had me 18 years older then I really am and
my wife 6 years older. I am listed as a 76 years young man with grey hair and
a beard. I’m greying at the temples but, only 58 years young. It is still a
good app, though. Just question its accuracy in facial recognition.

Hi,

I don't believe that it's available in the UK yet. Below is pasted from the
description in the Canada Store.

Seeing AI is a free app that narrates the world around you. Designed for the
blind and low vision community, this ongoing research project harnesses the
power of AI to open up the visual world and describe nearby people, text, and
objects. Optimized for use with VoiceOver, the app enables you to recognize: •
Short Text - Speaks text as soon as it appears in front of the camera. •
Documents - Provides audio guidance to capture a printed page, and
recognizes the text, along with its original formatting. • Products - Scans
barcodes, using audio beeps to guide you; hear the name, and package
information when available. (works with iPhone 6 and later) • People
- Saves people’s faces so you can recognize them, and get an estimate of their
age, gender, and emotions. • Scenes (early preview) - Hear an overall
description of the scene captured. • Images in other apps - Just tap “Share”
and “Recognize with Seeing AI” to describe images from Mail, Photos, Twitter,
and more. Seeing AI is built to help you achieve more by leveraging the power
of the cloud and artificial intelligence. As the research progresses, more
channels may be added. Visit http://SeeingAI.com for more details and
instructional videos. Available in the U.S., Canada, India, Hong Kong, New
Zealand, Singapore. Coming soon to more countries. Languages supported –
English Supported on iPhone 5C, 5S and later; best performance with iPhone 6S
and later models. Questions, feedback or feature requests? Email us at seeingai
@ microsoft.com .

Later...

RE: Which virtual machine software is accessible?

2017-07-17 Thread Simon Fogarty
Hi

The most accessible VM software is vm Fusion but there is a price for it.

If you are only going to use the windows machine only once an a while then I'd
recommend eiter Virtual box which is free but not as VO friendly as fusion,

Or install the windows OS into bootcamp and switch between them when you need
to access windows.

The only problem with bootcamp is that you can only use one os at a time,

With fusion or virtual box you can run the mac os all the time and open the
windows vm when you need it just like an application.

Subject: Which virtual machine software is accessible?

Hi all
I want to put Windows 10 on my MBP for very occasional use and because I have a
quad core i7 with 16 GB RAM, I think it will be fine if I run a virtual machine
rather than Bootcamp.

Which virtual machine software is most accessible for use with Voiceover and
easiest to use?
