Yes, it sounds like your student has Column View enabled, and you do not. Actually, I much prefer Column View, but that is an individual choice. Column View can be enabled/disabled by going to the Menu Bar > View, and pressing the Down Arrow until you get to Column View. Now press the Enter key

Hi, I am teaching a student how to access mail with Voiceover on her Mac. When she interacts with the table that holds her mail messages, she gets this table with a lot of columns. When I do it on my Mac, it only reads the subject and then the preview. for the life of me, I cannot remember how
