Sound of iPad Pro 2021

2022-02-12 Thread Jürgen Fleger
Hi,

I got my iPad Pro 12.9 M1 imediately after it came out last year. And I wasn‘t
convinced by its sound. It sounds very crisp but nearly no base. My hope was a
change after iPad OS 15 came out but no luck. On the internet I found some
similar reports but not many.

So Can anyone share sound impressions using this device? I‘m not sure whether
it could be a hardware issue. I got one iPad Pro 12.9 from 2019 as well and it
sounds much mor brilliant and it has a lot more base.

Thanks and all the best
Jürgen

The keys to be paired are f1 threw f3, to put it in pairing mode, just hold

Re: Notification Re Updating.

2022-02-12 Thread Brad Snyder
Going to About This Mac, and selecting the Check for Update button is the same
as going to Software Update.

Beginning with macOS Big Sur, the keyboard command to open the Notification
Center, is VO + O.

Re: Notification Re Updating.

2022-02-12 Thread Jonathan Cohn
The keyboard shortcut to get to notifications is VO-O (the second letter in
notification).
You do need to use VO-command-space to perform most actions on a notification.
Though I did send out a note last week describing how to change this keystroke
to right-option-A.

Best wishes,

Jonathan Cohn

adding to the dock

2022-02-12 Thread Caitlyn Furness
Hi,

How do you add an item to the dock on the mac? I am using high sierra still.
I’ve looked in the vo help menu and can’t find it. I googled it and it said
to do command shift t, but when I tried this, all I got was to hide or unhide
the tab bar..

Thanks!

Cait

Re: Notification Re Updating.

2022-02-12 Thread Brad Snyder
Instead of going to Notifications, try the following instead:
Go to System Preferences > Software Update.
Here you can either check for updates, or download and install an update if it
is available to your machine.

HTH.

Can someone please tell me the keyboard command to get to notifications?

How to restore a file from time machine

2022-02-12 Thread Paul Hopewell
Hello Tim,
Many thanks for your info on this. However I still have problems…

First I had to simplify my time machine setup. I have 2 time machine disks
which save alternate backups. One of these time machine disks contains 2
partitions one for my Mac and the other for my wife’s Mac. To get anything to
work I had to eject disks until I had just a single time machine disk for my
Mac.

I was then able to see time machine controls which showed the latest backup and
had the previous button you mentioned and the vertical slider. Alas pressing
the previous button took me to my first ever backup which was in April 2020! If
I then press the next button I did indeed get to the next backup which was
still in April 2020 and I needed a lot of presses of the next button to get to
11 February 2022 and in the process missed the backup which contained the file
I wanted to restore.
Is there a way to access the vertical slider using VO?

When / If I eventually locate the backup for late Friday 11 February 2022 then
how do I find the 1 file in that backup which I want to restore and thereby
replace the current version of that file on my Mac hard disk.

I am still unclear as to how my prior technique might corrupt the backup disk.
All I was doing was to copy the desired file from the backup disk to replace
its current version on my Mac hard disk. I did not change anything on the
backup disk.

Many thanks in anticipation of clarification. Is the action of the previous
button taking me back to my first ever time machine backup a bug which should
be reported to Apple?

Best … Paul Hopewell
