Re: voice mail on an iphone

2023-08-10 Thread joseph hudson
You can do this by hitting the number one key on your phone, and the call
button, or you can dial your phone number in the call button. Will ask you for
a password. If you don't remember what it is, you can go into settings and
under phone it gives you an option to reset your password.

FYI: The Second Time Around can be More Expensive on Amazon

2023-08-10 Thread M. Taylor
Hello Everyone,

After recently recommending the Emerson Sensi thermostat that I use for my
home via Home Kit, not knowing if Emerson is still making the model and
knowing how often products with hardware buttons can be discontinued, I
decided to purchase a second (backup) unit, just in case.

Imagine my surprise when I discovered that the price of the model had
increased by $25 since January of this year.

Just to confirm, I had a friend put the same model in her Amazon cart, on 2
different devices and the price was the same, $25 more than I originally
paid.

My point, if you like a product from Amazon and you think you may want to
purchase a second unit, do so sooner, rather than later, because the second
time around can be more expensive on Amazon.

Mark

VZ accessibility hotline was Anyone ever used a MIFI device?

2023-08-10 Thread 'Donna Goodin' via MacVisionaries
Hi all,

Just in case anyone else ever needs to use this number, the person I spoke with
was very nice, but not very knowledgeable. Now admittedly, there’s probably
less demand for info re Mifi devices, but every time I asked a question, she
had to look up the answer. I would have preferred to speak to someone who
actually knew how these devices work.
Cheers,
Donna

Re: Anyone ever used a MIFI device?

2023-08-10 Thread Shai
Verizon Wireless does have an accessibility phone number. I'd contact
them and see if there is a way that they can help with this.
Their number is (888)262-1999.

 Hello Donna,
I have used a mifi device before. I'm not sure what you're trying to
do, but if all you are trying to do is to get connected with it, then
there should be a button to turn it on and the name/password of the
device will be displayed on the screen.
You could then use a visual interpretation service to glean that
information to become connected with it. It is similar to connecting
to any other wifi access point it is a wifi hotspot similar to your
phone with a sim card or ESIM.

Hi Cara,

Thanks so much for your messages and suggestions. I suspect you are right,
that it is a security measure, but it’s one I could do without. :) I contacted
my employer to see if there is a less menu driven option, but it was the end of
the day, so I haven’t heard back yet. I think that if there isn’t a device I
can operate without sighted assistance, I’m going to try and find another way
of coping with our hopelessly inadequate ISP.

Thanks again for all your help.
Cheers,
Donna
