Or just the short cuts from the finder window: shift command + c

Re: AutoFill Update

2018-05-27 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi,

It seems to work a little differently on iOS with a keyboard. When you
activate a editable field that could be auto-filled, press the down arrow once,
then touch your finger down near the bottom centre of the iPad screen. You
should hear the best guess for that specific auto-fill site. Either double-tap
on it or VO-space and it will fill in both the username and password for the
user that was suggested for that site. I haven't figured out yet how to jump
over to that area where the username is suggested, but if someone else knows,
maybe they'll chime in, or I'll play some more and read a bit more to see if I
can figure it out.

I'm fairly new at the iPad/external keyboard thing, but getting there. I've
been travelling some lately doing some presentations about VO on the iPad, so
have been trying to become more versed with the keyboard functionality.

Re: Problems with Feedback Assistant in beta programme

2018-05-27 Thread Andrew Lamanche
I’d like to thank Jonathan Cohen for encouraging me to contact my ISP provider.
It has turned out that they had not changed my broadband plan to a better
package which i had switched to 14 months ago, hence charging me for the
service I’ve not been receiving. This resulted in 14 months of inferior upload
& download speeds. Well, I’m speechless but grateful to Jonathan for
triggering my action.

Best regards

Re: Problems with Feedback Assistant in beta programme

2018-05-27 Thread Jonathan Cohn
This is probably a filter issue from your ISP, though it might also be
something as esoteric as double NAT.

We used to experience this type of issue regular in the early days of the
internet when most ISP’s used phone trunk type connections, and could get
confused or lose timing if more than 10 zero’s were sent in a ro Call your ISP
and tell them you are dropping your connection while attempting to upload a
crash file.

They should be able to look at your router / gateway logs and see what errors
are occurring.

Problems with Feedback Assistant in beta programme

2018-05-27 Thread Andrew Lamanche
Hi,

I’ve joined Mac OS beta testing programme on my mac running High Sierra. Every
time I try to send feedback email with attachments to Apple using the Feedback
assistant, I get an error message saying that my network connection has been
interrupted, and the upload of the email stops. It usually happens just a few
percentage points above 10% and I have to start sending the feedback again.
I’ve done it about 10 times now and it still happens. I rather would like to
succeed to send the feedback. Any clues why it might be happening or how I
could resolve this issue?

Andrew

Re: Is there an easy way to do math on the Mac?

2018-05-27 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi,

Are you wanting to actually do the algebra, or simply write out equations? If
the latter, MathType 6.7 works well with Pages as mentioned here:

https://support.apple.com/kb/PH23695?viewlocale=en_US=en_US

If the former, I'd need to investigate further as I've never tried this sort of
thing yet.

Re: Esoteric VoiceOver Question

2018-05-27 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi,

There are three tabs in the Visuals category. You need to select the "Panels &
Menus" tab first to be able to modify the Caption Panel visibility setting.
Actually, this is the only one you should modify. I would leave the VoiceOver
cursor checked. This allows people who are working with you to actually know
where your VO focus is which is useful in many situations.

Re: Colaps the expanded folders, and why they are expanded?

2018-05-27 Thread Tim Kilburn
Hi,

To collapse an expanded folder in Finder when in List mode, do one of the
following:

• cmd-left.
• left arrow
• VO-back slash

You must have interacted with the List in order for the VO-back slash action to
work. The others should work as long as the keyboard has focus on the given
folder.

How did it become expanded in the first place? You must have opened it with
the opposite of one of the above commands such as right arrow, cmd-right or
toggled the VO-back slash action. If you opened a folder while in a Open or
Save dialog, this also may leave the folder open when you go to that folder in
the Finder at a future time.

On my macbook pro running Sierra, every time I launch Twitterrific, it crashes
with the familiar problem report message which you have to ok or try to reopen
the app which crashes again. It has started happening fairly recently. Ten
days ago it was still ok. any similar experiences anyone? On High Sierra it
works fine.

Thanks a lot.
