Hi Tim,
Practically it’s opening it, but doesn’t appear right. It cannot be read. So a
friend of mine suggested me to play with encoding. I did so and everything
seems to be OK.
Thanks a lot

Hello,
I am running the latest Monterey on my 2018 iMac.
I seem to have accidentally deleted my Safari bookmarks. How can I recover them
from my time machine?
Many thanks for any tips …. Paul Hopewell

Hi,
VO-space will work just fine. So would cmd-o for “Open”. You should always
leave applications in the Applications folder. You can make an alias, or
shortcut, thing on the Desktop or Dock, but the application itself should
remain in the Applications folder.

Thanks much, Tim.
In the application Folder, apps are arranged in table form, isn’t it?
Once I interact the table and arrow down to the required app, should I hit
VO-Spacebar or should I stop interacting and open the app outside the table?
Thanks!

Thanks Tim! This worked a treat!

Hi,
That’s a good idea, although it’s more for AirPlaying music from your
iPhone/iPad to the speakers. The shortcuts can be sent out from the HomePod,
but they do not normally control the HomePod. But, yes, definitely you can use
shortcuts on your iPhone/iPad to send music to Home enabled
Interesting idea. I’ll play around with that.

Hi!
I wonder if you could make use of the shortcuts app on the phone.
So you can creat a shortcut which will work on all your apple devices.
I don’t have these speakers so I can not try this at my home.

Hi,
When in Mil, press cmd-comma to open Mail Preferences, interact with the
Toolbar, and VO-space on Viewing, stop interacting with the Toolbar and make
sure that the checkbox that reads "Show most recent message at the top” is not
checked.

Hi,
Right now I have my mail set to put the oldest message on top. I also have
conversations turned on. When I open a conversation, the newest one is on top
with the oldest being at the bottom of the list. How can I make the
conversation messages sort with the oldest one on top? Have

Hi,
Not necessarily, I believe that there’s some more updates to Siri on the way in
the next little while. I definitely have no inside information, but have heard
such things in the rumour mills.

Hi,
It will be in your Applications folder. You can go to the Finder, or to the
Desktop, then VO-m to the menubar, right to the Go menu, then down to
Applications. Alternatively, when on the Desktop or in the Finder, press
cmd-shift-a to quickly open the Applications folder.

It used to work for me before this update, but it seems that those days are

Hi,
I don’t believe that Siri is particularly adept at multi-action commands. She
can sometimes request more info, but a “complicated” request messes with her
mind :).
You still have issues though with the playing of albums though, correct?

Thanks much, Tim. What should I do if I need to run the downloaded app after
few days of download? Would this appear in Finder?
Thanks!

That did work. I wish there was a way to accomplish that without issuing

Hi,
If you wish to have music play on additional speakers, try using the phrase,
“Hey Siri, also play this in such and such room”, of course substituting such
and such room with the specific room that your Home app believes has those
specific speakers. That works for me when I want the

Hi, Tim,
I may not have been clear about this. Our sound system is a combination of
Homepods, HomePod minis, and Sonos speakers. Intercom works fine on all the
Apple speakers. The two things that don’t work are Siri commands asking it to
play music that is in my library, and getting it to
Hi, Group.
When I download an app from AppStore in iPhone, it is installed when
downloaded and is ready to use.
Is it same in Mac? I mean when I download an app from AppStore, should I
assume that the app is installed when download is complete and the app is
ready to use?
Thanks!

Hi Donna,
On your iPhone or iPad, go to your Home app. Do all the rooms and devices
within those rooms show as responsive? Next, if you have the intercom feature
enabled, try asking Siri to intercom to such and such of room where the
HomePods are registered. So, you would say “Hey Siri,
It does. I miss read the question.

On the Mac, you can do this with the command, VO + Shift + C.
Be aware that this may not work everywhere. The simple action of invokeing this
command, may cause a menu or some other element to close.

No. I have no issue with .dmg distributions. I simply mount the dmg file
and rsync over to /Applications.
My last experience of this came Monday when I had to install Microsoft
Teams from a link I received in email just as the meeting was starting.
I didn't have time to do anything but defaults.
So this has almost gotten commical. Here is what I did this morning.
First, I told the homepod to play an album, which failed, as expected. So I
decided to see if I could trick her into doing what I want, so I told her to
play that artist. I then just kept saying Next Track until she finally

I agree this sounds awful. It’s honestly one of the reasons I’ve kind of given
up on voice assistance for now you never know what you’re going to get. Alexa
is often OK but then randomly it doesn’t work. I guess we could say the same
for operating systems to appoint but I like the old way of
