Icloud private relay is more like a proxy server. You have to use safari on
web.

A paid vpn like mullvad vpn, torguard, express vpn should work very good on
mac and windows. Nordvpn and protonvpn too. It is clear that vpn do not
protect against all hacking type, but makes you more private on internet.
Also more difficult for hackers to see you on local wifi. If you get the
time, its pretty interesting to test 4-5 vpn's before deciding. It must be
a paid one.

The Mac does have iCloud Relay  available though it is in Beta mode. If you go 
under your Apple ID in system Preferences and interact with  the iCloud 
Services, you should see the option. I discovered this by accident when looking 
for something else entirely different so it’s all good.

ended up having to  uninstall it.  I’m going to give it one more go today, and 
if it doesn’t work, I’ll be going to ExpressVPN.

Its really good for what I want it for.
I use it  because I want to listen to bbc and the premiere league and champions

I should be able to access our employers VPN, so I’m going to try that first,

VPN Express seems to work well for me. If you have Verizon, they have something 
called digital secure that works on an iPHone. But VPN Express (or is it 
Express VPN?) works on all devices, and can even work directly on a Wi-Fi 
router and Smart TV.

Good VPN option?

Hi all,

The network at the hotel where I am staying has insecure internet, and, since 
I’m going to be spending some time here over the next few years, I’m thinking I 
need to set up a VPN.  I know this topic has been discussed on this list, so 
thought I would start here.  Can anyone recommend a good, accessible, hopefully 
not too expensive VPN option?
