I could not tell you I think it's excludes some countries, but I'm not for sure
I would have to do some googling to see what countries it covers.

Re: Apple Cash

2023-11-01 Thread Brad Snyder
Apple Cash is an option for a payment method in ApplePay.
You need to setup your bank debit or credit card as a method of payment, then
set one of those as your default method of payment for ApplePay.
No meed to turn off Apple Cash if you have another method of payment selected
as your default.

Express Transit is something that is a separate type of payment.
For example, Express Transit, once setup, can be used on the New York City
subway system. It allows you to just hold your iPhone or Apple Watch up to the
turnstile reader, without pressing the side-button twice, as is required on
regular ApplePay payments.

HTH.

No, the transit cards thing is for like a bus pass. Would you be all right with
calling me or getting on zoom or something and I could show you with VoiceOver
what I mean? There's no need to turn off Apple Cash.

Re: Apple Cash

2023-11-01 Thread Lorie McCloud
Apple Cash was turned on but there’s something that says express transits that
I can set I think with my bank card. even after I did that it said “none” under
Apple Cash. I decided it might be easier just to turn off Apple Cash and only
have it on if I need to accept money. does that sound like it would work? the
place under Apple Cash that said “none” I couldn’t find a way to get any other
selection.

Definitely not true. When my brother paid me one time using Apple Pay, he
charged it right from his card. You do not have to have money in your Apple

Re: Apple Cash

I believe that if you are paying an individual, you must use Apple Cash, not
regular Apple Pay. Unless, of course, this has changed since last year. I
once had to add some money from my bank account to pay an individual. I have
also had to use it to pay certain types of organizations, such as paying dues
to a nonprofit, though I don’t know if this is always the case.

If you buy from Apple with your Apple Pay, you get 3% back. You get 2% back
from certain online purchases, and for everything else, as in when you use your
physical card you get 1%. If you buy a big ticket item from Apple, such as an
iPhone, iPad, or Mac, you can collect some money in your Apple Cash account. I
also understand that you can now get some type of Apple savings account and use
your cash balance as part of it, though I have not done this yet.

RE: Apple Cash

2023-11-01 Thread sarai.bucciarelli
Okay, Apple pay is using your wallet app to pay for something. Apple cash is an
option in your wallet to pay for an item.
You double tap side button and swipe to Apple cash as a payment options. Double
tap to pick it.. or choose another option to pay.

Subject: Apple Cash

What’s the difference between Apple Cash and Apple pay? today I tried to pay
for something in a store using Apple Pay and it came up saying that my balance
for Apple Cash was zero. I didn’t have any trouble with my card so it wasn’t
that. what was going on there? I want to be able to use Apple Pay without that
kind of interference as I have in the past.

thanks.

Re: Apple Cash

2023-11-01 Thread joseph hudson
OK so they're essentially the same thing once just a balance on your iCloud,
and then the other is just straight from your bank. Just switch to your bank,
you can go under settings and Apple Pay, wallet, and then you can go all the
way down, where it says default card. Yours currently should say Apple Cash. If
it says Apple Cash, double tap on it, and it will give you a selection box. You
shall be able to switch it to your regular debit Card. the other thing you can
do, is from with the same area, there is a button that says add money. So you
can add money to your Apple Cash. I hope that helps.

OK, so let me see if I can explain this in terms for you actually

Apple Cash

2023-11-01 Thread Lorie McCloud
What’s the difference between Apple Cash and Apple pay? today I tried to pay
for something in a store using Apple Pay and it came up saying that my balance
for Apple Cash was zero. I didn’t have any trouble with my card so it wasn’t
that. what was going on there? I want to be able to use Apple Pay without that
kind of interference as I have in the past.

thanks.
Lorie

Re: Apple Cash card?

2019-08-20 Thread John JD Denning
I’ve been trying to remember how I set that up. It has been quite some time. I
believe I set it up in the Messages app when I added the Apple Pay cash so I
can receive cash from people so far nobody’s wanted to send me any. I’m gonna
have to try this on my wife’s phone and see if I can set it up for her because
I don’t believe she has it yet.

Apple Cash card?

2019-08-20 Thread Mary Otten
Hi folks,
I just applied for the Apple card and have it in my wallet now. In reading
about it, I was given to understand that you should get an Apple Cash card
which is issued by some bank called greens I think it is, and this allows you
to do more with Apple Cash then just pay off your bill. And then I found an
article that tells you how to set up Apple Cash. I tried both approaches
referenced, when going into settings then Apple Pay and wallet, the other going
directly into wallet and clicking on Apple Cash to get the process started. In
both instances, I am being sent around in a circle. I hit set up, then
continue, I’m back to being told it’s not set up and I have to set it up and I
do it all again. I’m not seeing any error message. I don’t have a physical
card, and I didn’t think one was necessary. I am thoroughly confused. Has
anyone done this?

Apple Card vs. Apple Pay vs. Apple Cash: Differences you need to know, cNet

2019-08-16 Thread M. Taylor
Apple Card vs. Apple Pay vs. Apple Cash
Apple's three payment methods live in the Apple Wallet and can get confusing
fast.
By Katie ConnerAugust 7, 2019 2:30 AM PDT

Apple Pay isn't the same as Apple Cash. We iron it out.
Jason Cipriani/CNET
Apple is officially in the credit card game with the Apple Card, a mostly
digital card that's available now for those who've received invites. With
its tight ties to the iPhone ($1,000 at Amazon) -- you can't actually use
Apple Card without one -- Apple is once again using its services to help
make the iPhone more valuable to its loyal users. As with iOS 13, the new
mobile software coming to iPhones in fall, making the software on the device
appealing is as important as making the device itself attention-grabbing.
The role of these services is especially important as iPhone sales continue
to slow.
Apple Card is a big enough beast on its own, with a physical card and plenty
of fine print, but it won't replace Apple Pay or Apple Cash, which is where
things get confusing.
See, Apple Card, Apple Pay and Apple Cash will all be accessible from your
iPhone's digital wallet -- they each have their own purpose. Here's what
they are, and how you'll use them.
If you're interested in learning more about setting up using Apple Pay,
watch the How To Use Apple Pay video below.
Apple Pay is the lynchpin
Apple Pay is the name of the system that makes digital payments with your
iPhone possible. It lives in the Wallet app and was designed to replace the
need to cart around physical payment cards. As with Google Pay and Samsung
Pay, you load the details of your real-life credit and debit cards into the
Apple Pay app. Then, you can call up your virtual credit card to make
payments online or in stores with your iPhone instead of thumbing through
your wallet for your card.
Apple Pay requires your authentication in order to kick off a payment.
You'll either scan your face using Face ID, scan your fingerprint or type in
your passcode to verify your identity. In stores, you'll hold the iPhone
near the NFC payment terminal until you see confirmation. For online
purchases, you'll verify your identity, and the software will take over from
there to complete the purchase.
Apple Pay works on its own, but you can add an Apple Card as one of your
credit cards (see below for more details) and can use Apple Cash to shuttle
funds to and from your friends and family.

Apple's digital card lives in the Wallet app, but there's also a physical
card.
Apple Card is tied to your bank account
Apple's new credit card is backed by Mastercard and Goldman Sachs. It acts
like a "real" credit card just like the plastic or metal card in your wallet
or purse, with interest rates and up to 3% cash back, but it mostly lives as
a digital card on your phone.
There's also a physical card element, with Apple shipping you a slick
titanium rectangle with your name engraved on it. This is to use on the
occasion that a brick-and-mortar store doesn't take Apple Pay.
What does Apple Pay have to do with it? Everything. Apple Card is one more
card that you can use digitally with Apple Pay. Instead of loading in and
using your usual bank card from Chase or Wells Fargo, you use your Apple
Card from Goldman Sachs.
Convenience and a strong emphasis on security are two reasons you'd use
Apple Card, and we recommend reading up on all the Apple Card details if
you're interested in signing up this summer. Remember, you can continue to
use Apple's digital payment system with your own credit cards.

Apple Cash is peer-to-peer
Apple Cash is a service that's built into the Apple Pay platform that lets
you send, receive and request money from others through iMessages.
Apple refers to it as a "prepaid debit card in your Apple Wallet." It's
similar to Venmo, but you'll have to add money to your Apple Cash account by
using your debit card in the Wallet app. Apple confirmed that credit cards
are no longer supported in Apple Cash. Apple Cash works across iOS devices
like iPhone, Apple Watch ($349 at Amazon), iPad ($249 at Walmart) and Mac.

To use Apple Cash, you must be at least 18 years old and be a US resident.
You'll need to have iOS 11.2 or later, or if you're using an Apple Watch,
WatchOS 4.2 or later. You'll also want to make sure you're signed into
iCloud on each device you want to send and receive money through. You launch
the request in iMessages and confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your
passcode.
When you receive cash from a contact, you'll find it in a digital Apple Cash
card in the Wallet (you'll have to agree to the terms and conditions to set
this up). You can use this cash to make payments in stores, in apps and
online -- or you can transfer your balance to your bank account. You can
also transfer the balance to your bank account linked to Apple Pay.
