Re: Bluetooth Barcode Scanners and Digit-Eyes
Hi, Erik, It is great to know that Digit-Eyes developers realised that some people would prefer using a barcode scanner as opposed to the iPhone camera. To your knowledge, can this scanner be successfully used for other purposes, or is it strictly limited to barcode scanning applications? Your input has been very helpful to me; thank you! Re: Bluetooth Barcode Scanners and Digit-Eyes
Hi again Mike, The kdc is only for scanning bar codes. It has a laser scanner that is exclusively for that purpose. For OCR applications such as sorting mail, there are three good products, the standscan, the justscan, and the scan doc. I can tell you a bit about some of these in another thread if you are interested. Re: Bluetooth Barcode Scanners and Digit-Eyes
Thank you for supplying this link, Isaac. Have you used this particular scanner with Digit-Eyes and if so, how well does it work? I guess what I am really asking is if it is possible, in principle, to use such scanners with Digit-Eyes. On a similar subject, is it possible to use such devices with other blindness-related apps such as TapTapSee as well. Re: Bluetooth Barcode Scanners and Digit-Eyes
Hi there I like Digit-Eyes, but I have found that for some things TapTapSee works better. For example, if I just want to find out what's in a can of food, or even a package, I found the TapTapSee is faster. Would this work for your friend? That would allow him to be a lot more flexible insofar as accuracy is concerned. Then he could just put the camera over whatever he wanted to know about. Hi Mike, It's as I said. The kdc is fully intergrated with digit-eyes. Once pared it beeps the bar codes and instantly finds the information directly in digit-eyes.
