Re: Mac Mini Builtin Speaker
It is quite good for the voice range and music is like with a small radio. If you want it for fuller music sound the mini jack allows an external speaker or the blutooth for a compatible speaker. Re: Mac Mini Builtin Speaker
I have a 2012 Mac mini, and I find the internal speaker completely inadequate for regular use with VoiceOver or anything else. I have looked at the 2018 Mac mini, and it doesn’t seem any different.. The speaker’s opening in in the back below the peripheral connectors and sounds like it is buried deep inside the case. I have used the internal speaker in a pinch, but I find it difficult to hear even with the volume turned up. I have a pair of external computer speakers connected to the port on the back of the mini, that produce very good sound, but I primarily use AirPods when using my mini. I love my Mac mini and will most likely replace it with a decked-out current model soon, but the internal speaker sucks. - Brad - On Mar 24, 2020, at 10:33, 'Dan' via MacVisionaries wrote: Hi, I also have a 2018 year mac mini and I love it. In windows, the speaker really stuttered. But I read that that was also a problem with windows. So I got a usb external sound card for about 9 bucks or so. It works really great either i n windows or mac. The speaker problem in windows has been corrected at some point over the last year or so. Back to the internal speaker. It is in the back, the sound comes out just below the connections. As far as I'm concerned, If for some reason I needed another mac, it would be another mac mini. HTH. The speaker is great for VoiceOver and basic audio. It’s pretty clear and loud. However, if you are going to listen to music or videos, you are probably better off adding some kind of speaker.
