RE: Mark's Update to iOS and iPad OS 17.2: An Extremely Positive Experience

2023-12-18 Thread M. Taylor
Hello E. T.,

Okay, do the following to see the list of episodes in a purchased television
series with VoiceOver focus placed on the last viewed episode:

1.
>From the Apple TV launch pad, select TV. The TV app will load.

2.
Move to the left side of the display and the TV app menu will appear.

3.
Select Home. Doing this will cause a table of columns and rows to appear.
Initially, you will be placed on the top row of the table which will, most
likely, contain Apples featured content.

4.
Move down to the row that VO reads as, Up Next and explore the various columns.
In each column, you will discover the title of each TV show / series and / or
movie you've watched.

5.
With focus on a television series, press and hold down the select button on
your Siri remote. This is the center button located near the top of the
remote. Doing this will cause a context menu to appear.

6.
Select, Go to episodes or, Go to show.

7.
Explore this area and you will see each episode is listed with the initial
focused being placed on the last watched episode.

Mark,
Where is this done? I took a look last night but not sure I was in the

RE: Mark's Update to iOS and iPad OS 17.2: An Extremely Positive Experience

2023-12-17 Thread M. Taylor
Yes, even TV OS.

I discovered that one can easily locate the episode, last viewed, in a series
by using the long press of the select button. Using this button causes a
submenu to appear from which one can select view episodes. When selected, one
is placed on the last episode viewed, just as in the legacy TV Shows app.

Give it a try.

Even tvOS? My workaround was to download a TV show then use the Computer
app. I had first the watched/unwatched options in the Mac's TV app. The only
drawback to this is having to turn on the TV app on the Mac.

2023-12-17 Thread Anders Holmberg
Hi!
That’s absolutely great that you can not see any bugs.
But its not necessary to close all devices down and disconnect them from the
network to install iOS.
But maybe you do not have a fast broadband connection.
Then that might help.
But I never use to do that.

RE: Mark's Update to iOS and iPad OS 17.2: An Extremely Positive Experience

2023-12-15 Thread Jessica Barr
I'm very happy with iOS 17.2; however, when I updated my Apple Watch to 10.2,
the VoiceOver voice reverted to Samantha, and I cannot change it back to Zoey
enhanced. I spent almost two hours on the phone with Apple Accessibility and
the problem still hasn't been resolved. I know some people like the Samantha
voice, but I can't stand it. I hope someone can figure out a fix soon. I also
updated to macOS 14.2 and I've heard great things, but I haven't done a whole
lot with that yet. I'm still "getting my feet wet" where the Mac is concerned.

Subject: Mark's Update to iOS and iPad OS 17.2: An Extremely Positive
Experience

Hello All,
Okay, I updated all of my devices, including my Apple TV boxes to their
respective latest versions of the OS.
I am absolutely stunned to report that after testing virtually every aspect
of all of my must-have native and third-party apps, I have not yet
encountered a bug.
And, as painful as it is for me to admit, I think Apple has done a splendid
job with the new version of the native TV app for iOS, iPad OS and, yes,
dare I say it, even TV OS.
I also updated my Apple Watch Series 7 to Watch OS 10. Again, I can not
find a bug.
In fact, the hap tic time works consistently using the same gestures I've
used since the feature was introduced many years ago.
I have not yet had the opportunity to use a Braille display with the latest
OS so cannot comment on that aspect of the OS.
However, I will say that all of the VoiceOver glitches that I experienced,
when having two active E SIM cards installed, has been completely resolved.
Speaking only for myself, I am absolutely delighted with iOS 17.2. I am
running the OS on my beloved 1GB iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Before installing the OS I:
1.
Made a full backup of the device on my beloved Windows 10 PC with the latest
version of iTunes.
2.
Backed up the device to iCloud.
3.
Closed every app via the App Switcher.
4.
Disconnected any non-crucial devices from my primary network.
5.
Disconnected all of the sub-networks from the primary network.
6.
Rebooted the device, twice, and allowed it to sit idle for 2-minutes. This
insures that the device has full acquisition of the network.
7.
Downloaded and install the OS, OTA (over the air).
Mark
