OK, folks, I'm at that I would love to be able, without dire consequences, to
throw this thing across the room. Whether I try to use Spotlight or Finder to
search for things, interacting does not help, and if by chance I get what I'm
looking for in the list, pressing Vo space doesn't open it
Check in VO Utility to see what cursors are following each other. If they
appear to be normal, make sure that cursor tracking is still on. Sometimes,
you turn it off for some reason but forget to turn it back on and then things
can get frustrating. Press VO-shift-f3 and VO should announce
It's on. Never have shut it off, as far as I know.

Tim, do me a favor. Either here or in a private message, describe how it is
displaying for you when you put in a search term in Spotlight. I get a show in
finder which doesn't seem to do anything, followed by a list of finds.
However, when I try to choose one of the finds, it disappears, and I
Christine,
When I do a spotlight search, I type in the term I want, then, if I want to
activate the top hit, I simply press enter. Otherwise, I VO-downarrow until I
hear the result I want, and I cmd-O on the result to open it. I have never
tried to VO-space to open a spotlight result. The
Please answer on-list. I use spotlight successfully, but only if the first hit
is the one I want. I type in what I want, mostly for apps, and hit enter, and
am told how many results were found and what the first one was. However,
vo-arrowing does nothing in the spotlight window, so I have no
Oh, that helps me a lot. I never knew the results were right there, I thought
they'd be in a separate table. Now the only odd thing is that some kind of
quick look application opened an email when all I did was vo-down to it. Still,
at least I can see the results list.

Hi,
In spotlight, I do the following:
• Press cmd-space to open Spotlight.
• Enter the search term.
• Use the down arrow to find what I'm looking for.
• Press enter.
• To get back to the list, go to the Finder and press cmd-space once again.
I prefer the following method though:
• Press cmd-f
Hi,
as I wrote just before I read your message: Spotlight and VoiceOver doesn't
seem to work together in Mountain Lion. Could be something for the
accessibility team.
