Hello Jürgen,
The only difference between your method and mine is that your method tells you
how many items are selected, but you don't hear the first and last cell
coordinates, whereas with my method, you don't need to count cells and rows
before starting, you just have to locate the first
Hi Kirsten,
highlighting an empty portion of a table in Numbers and copying it to Pages
should also work. But creating a table without contents is also possible in
Pages itself. I'm totally with you. It's really a pitty that VO doesn't

Hi Anne,
when my cursor for example sitts in A1 and I press Shift + arrow right VO says
two selected. When I then press Shift + arro down VO anounces four
selected. When I press again Shift + arrow down VO says six selected. So I'm
able to select portions of the table but of course just in
Hello Gigi,
Any layout problems need to be handled in Numbers, not Pages. You then have to
copy just the portion of the table that you need. So if you have a blank column
at the left, some blank columns to the right, and some blank rows below, you
should not copy these back into Pages.

Let me make sure I have it straight. I have been doing the layout in Numbers,
but what I have been doing is pasting all of the text after I get it done.
Also, I finally figured out I had to take out all the extra columns and rows
before pasting the text. Are you saying that I should
Hi Anne,
could you please tell me, what's the advantedge of your methode? What I
normally do is just hold down shift and press arro keys to select either
columns or rows. I can also highlight a row and go downwards to select the next
row.
Thanks for your hints and
all the best

Hello Jürgen,
Using your method, can you select a portion of a table or are you stuck with
entire columns and entire rows? My method allows you to select just the part
you want.
Cheers,

Hi,
Tables is something which majorly bothers me about Pages too. I couldn't
understand why it wouldn't read them. Now I am enlightened! Thanks.
What is the command to convert text to table and table to text which was
mentioned? Or if I read right, how do you create a command like this?

The commands are in the Format menu, under Table. In the submenu, quite a way

Hi matthew,
I understand that you can copy the table in to Numbers and work with it
normally. I'm not sure what progress has been made with Voiceover and tables
within Pages itself, but I do know that copying the table into Numbers does
work.
Hope this helps,
Kevin

Hi guys.
Tables has been my most painful part of switching to the Mac. I signed up for
on-to-one with Apple when I got my Mac, and I have been there three times
trying to work out the difficulties with my tables.
It was, by folks on this list, that told me to put the text into Numbers and
