Yes, that's to bad! when I first purchased my Mac, preview made me vary happy.
It loaded PDF files fast and read them immediately and easily. something
definitely went wrong in the later versions. I haven't yet found anything I
like nearly as well as the earlier versions of preview.

iMac in safari, mail, new rack, everything is constantly busy busy
Maybe a clean install will fix it, otherwise I find the mac has become
unusable at these times

It worked fine up to Lion. The issue in Lion was that VO didn't read the first
letters of a new line. But now in Mountain Lion it's terrible to use. I tried
to install Snow Leopards Preview in Mountain Lion what was free of such issues,
but it didn't work.

No, the image won't fit on a DVD. I sort of had to go the long way around. I
let it install as an upgrade, then I booted the mac in to recovery and did an
erase and reinstall from there. I now have it on a flash drive though so
upgrading my other macs will go much faster.

Mike is there a way to do a USB install if mountain lion was pre installed.

If mountain lion was preinstalled, just use the recovery to reinstall. There is
also an program you can download from apple's site called the recovery
assistant that will create a recovery flash drive for you.

A lot of good features I agree.
But have a look at Preview. That's a catastrophy. Navagating pdf files is
practically impossible.

Yes it is. Are you saying that this used to be possible and was broken? Come to
think of it, navigating a lot of thins is impossible since no text seems to
have line navigation enabled. Was this always the case?

Hey everyone, been meaning to update to mountain lion for a while, and
finally had some time to do it this weekend. Over all I'm very
impressed. I think the best thing is that the safari busy messages are
totally gone and you no longer have to turn voiceover off and back on
again to get around
This is so true, Safari busy messages really drove me crazy, and now, they are
gone.

Yes, it's awesome. One of my mac minis will not run mountain lion, so I
may upgrade it, not sure yet. I also need to update my macbook to 7.8,
really that safari issue should have been fixed long ago. One work
around for those not using mountain lion is to use chrome instead of
safari, it
Mike, did you do a clean install or just the update?
I upgraded to Lion at one poinnt from SL with my late 2009 Macbook Pro and
absolutely hated the clunkiness of mail and other things. I would like to
upgrade to ML now, but have been hesitant to do so. I use VMware Fusion and

I did a clean install, for new operating systems, I always do a clean
install. You should not have to reinstall windows, just back up your
virtual machine file to another drive first. I actually found a new mac
mini from 2010 on ebay and bought it to replace the mac mini that will
not run
