The reason, Bill, is simple. With Apple’s adapter, you only get 3.5MM to lighting but you cannot charge because there is no charging port on the adapter. This Belkin adapter solves that. How, again, simple. YOu plug this Belkin adapter in to the lightning port, then you plug the 3.5 Apple

hey, i just read about this new adaptor today from belkin. you plug it into the lightening port and you can charge and use legacy connections AKA 3.5 mm at the same time. i was talking about this with my sister on sunday night and we both thought belkin would rise to the occasion.
