Hi Erik,

I have never had any success with getting Rules to work. Not sure why. But
that’s why I was so glad to discover this solution.
Cheers,
Donna

2024-04-19 Thread Eric Oyen
I wish the same worked better for gmail. Like you, I faced a large incursion of
junk mail in my iCloud account. Your solution is one of several. Another good
one involves the use of rules on your mail client (in my case, the mail app
client found in OS X/XI/XII, etc). So far, it is proving to be a possible
workable solution. And yes, when you see over 1k spams in the spam folder on
gmail, you need all the help you can get.

Re: A very handy way to deal with junk mail

2024-04-17 Thread 'Jason J.G. White' via MacVisionaries
I run my own mail server. I have it configured to train its filter on
all of the mail that I move into the spam folder. Anything automatically
placed in the spam folder and later moved out of it manually is
automatically trained as legitimate mail.

I would expect commercial mail providers to do the same, probably in
more sophisticated ways.

I think that the way it works is that Apple adjusts its filters to filter out
those emails. For addresses like gmail, that would be the responsibility of
Google.

Kliph,

I was getting it at my me.com address, which is an iCloud
Addie. Hopefully you will continue not to get much junk mail, but I thought
I’d let you know that it can happen, even with an iCloud address.
Cheers,
