So I thought I would put a .install on the garage page but it seems
that the garage web server is not configured to serve the .install
files in a format that would allow for single click installs. I tried
several different formats but couldn't get one to trigger an install.

I played a bit with this idea:
1. Created a osso-software-version-rx34_4.2008.36-5a package. The
difference is that the following packages are removed from the
dependency:
gizmo-installer
pre-installed-documentation-rx44
pre-installed-images
pre-installed-sound
(sent once again.. hopefully it works this time...)
