When another authentication instance is used on a site (e.g. saml, ldap,
etc.), it would be nice to be able to disable Internal auth (the
standard password-based one) and not show the login form at all.
However, it's not possible because the Internal auth instance is used
...and the Zip.

I've attached a patch file which should work. I should add the caveat
that I've never done a patch before so I can't guarantee it. However,
I've also attached a Zip file (provided by our developers) which will
perform the same task if you overwrite the artefact/file folder with its
contents.

.JPG files will not upload for user profiles, yet it does work for
content uploads. .PNG and .GIF are the only file types to work as
profile pictures. This problem is occuring on the latest stable build of
version 1.4 on a MYSQL database (LINUX). Tested with Firefox 8.0.

I'm not able to reproduce this issue, I could upload a jpg to my profile
picture.
Are you able to provide us with any error messages given by Mahara, or
jpg files that failed to upload?
You can send the failing files to us privately if they are not intended
for general internet

We only support the UTF-8 encoding for language packages, so something
like en.utf8 should just be called en.
Here's an idea for how to make the transition:
1- add support for en without the .utf8 everywhere (not removing support for
en.utf8)
2- switch all of our tools
