One thing I meant to add is that the Basso 5s after mail arrival occurs
even when sounds are disabled for MailMate as follows:
* Notifications are disabled in `System Preferences` —> `Notifications
& Focus` —> `MailMate`
* None is selected in `Preferences` —> `Counters` —> `Sound`.

Functionally, there is no change but UX wise, it is different. It was
nice to just click on the attachment filename and have it open as a
preview without needing the app. This function is now provided by

Hi Henry - FWIW, in addition to the MM specific sound, I am able to
select any of the other System sounds found in `Preferences` —>

It looks like none of the sounds installed into `~/Library/Sounds` are

Hi Benny - thanks for the info. That fixed one issue but there appears
to be a secondary issue only occurring with MM.
Each time a message is received, the Basso sound plays 5s after the
message arrives.
Any chance this is a bug in MM?

Hi again everyone-
I was composing an email and it crashed hard - just disappeared from the
screen, no beachball. I believe it crashed when it was choosing a
different “From” account based on context of whom I was sending the
message to. An error report should have been sent with this email
I had no problems w/ MM on M1 pro but when I moved to M1 Max macbook
pro, MM started crashing as you described.
Benny told me to try MM Version 1.14 (5887). I did, and since then no
crashes.
I currently run OS Monterey 12.5 on Macbook pro 16-inch, 2021.
Hope this helps.

Just upgraded my laptop to a new M1 MacBook pro, and I am sad to say
MailMate is hardly useful because it frequently crashes while composing
messages. I’ve sent a few crash reports to apple but I thought it was
worth once writing you as well.
Seems to have to do with the time spent editing.
Benny,
Only one kind of sound (sent mail) is allowed for MM. That’s different
from Mail.app where sound can be customized for multiple functions
(incoming mail, sent mail, others…).
Respectfully,

You are right. My mistake. Nothing for BusyContacts in there.

Thanks for using it
Nice job, Eric.
FYI, in my case I have one Gmail account on my MM account. Structurally
I’ve had difficulty with All Mail in G-World and don’t use it
(turned off in Gmail settings).
What I do use are specific non-Gmail archive mailboxes by year dating
back to 2021. I backup the rest locally

Benny,
I implemented the command for Busy Contacts and it works well for a
single contact address in Busy Contacts finding and showing all
addresses for that record, even one “suggested by Siri”. Not sure
how to control that one, though. Just select all the emails to use I
suppose.
